There are many Blunders ,50 wrong Diagrams in the X th Science Text Book NCERT The Chairman of the Science Subject Committee is Dr Jayant Naralikar,Chief Advisor is Smt Rupmanjiri Ghosh Professor of Physics Javaharlal Nehru University New Delhi and many Science Scholars from all over India are in the Science Subject committee .In the year 2006 this Text Book was introduced to the students.Thousands of Science Teachers have blindly taught wrong Science to the Students.About One Crore Students have studied wrong Science.Very highly qualified persons are in the Subject committee still so many Blunders ? I was asked to give my critical comments on the Text Books of Science & Maths by the Head of the Science & Maths Department NCERT Dr Jayashree Sharama on 2/7/2012 whthin four days I have Pointed out 50 Wrong Diagrams and suggested their rectifications.Dr Jayashree Sharama accepted the Mistakes and assured me to rectify and modify Diagrams in the next reprint Mistakes & Rectifications. 1)On the front cover of the X th Std Science Text Book There are Diagrams of Heart and Prism 1)In the Heart Diagram Tricuspid and Bicuspid valves are not shown, these valves are the vital part of the Heart Correct Image in the Attachment 2) In the Prism Diagram the Prism is of Blue Colour there will be no Spectrum Prism should be Crystal Clear. 3)Diagram 1.1 in the Diagram the Dish shown is China Dish and not the Watch Glass .To collect the Magnesium Oxide the method shown is very Clumsy and dangerous for the Students. Very Simple method hold a magnesium Coil in Tong keep a china Dish on the table hold the burning magnesium coil over the china dish Diagram in the attachment 4)Fig 1.6 Keep the Battery upright not horizontal. Carbon Rods are Black coloured not white as shown 5)Fig1.10 Tripod with only two legs ?Correct Fig in the Attachment 6)Fig 2.4 Student pouring Con.Hcl in the test tube holding with hand ? most dangerous ! Always use tong while experimenting with Con.Acids. Look at the Quantity of Con .Hcl poured in the Test tube ? 7)Fig 3.1 Metal Rod is shown not wire ? How you will fix pin on the wire it will not remain straight, so change the text and instead wire write rod.Put the pin on upper side of the Rod. 8)fig3.3 Cell holder is available there are terminals to fix wire Crocodile Clip- wire is screwed to the backside of Cro.Clip and by pressing the two arms it opens, in the fig.backside of Croc .Clip is shown how it will held the metal rod ?Correct Fig in the attachment 9)fig 3.3 Test tube standing erect without Stand in the water tub? The size of the test tubes shown ? 10)fig3.7 student is holding the side of the spatula on which the sample is to be placed ? 11)Page 57 Always hold the Test tube by Tong when experimenting with heating process 12)fig4.11 tripod with two legs? Test tube placed in the Beaker without holding by clamp of the Stand? 13)Page 86 Periodic Table Elements Discovered are 118 in the fig.up to 112 and114 14)Correct Cross section of Leaf in the attachment 15)fig.6.4 China Dish is shown not watch glass !There is no Potassium Hydroxide in the dish? 16)fig.6.5 Amoeba . a)fig food vacuole missing b)fig.food vacuole missing c)fig food vacuole appeared ?d)fig food vacuole disappeared without digesting the food? 17)fig.6.6 very important ,vital valve between Stomach and small intestine missing .look at the liver and stomach pressing diaphragm onwards permanently ? 18)fig6.7 Air passed by pump and exhaled in the test tube but no bubbles ? 19)fig.6 only 9 ribs instead of 12 on one side ? 20)fig 6.10 bicuspid and tricuspid valves are not shown 21)6.11Transport and exchange of oxygen and co2 is not of Human . correct fig in attachment 22)page 107 Blood Pressure measurement rubber pump missing in second and third fig. 23)fig7.3 three muscles are responsible for lifting arm only one shown . 24)fig.7.5 in the flask there no soil or water still the plant is growing ?25)fig7.7 correct diagrams in the attachment. 25)fig8.4 Hydra without mouth. Separation of bud from mother Hydra fig should be included. 26)fig8.8 Pollen grains are still on top of the Stigma then how the Pollen tubes are grown? 27)fig 8.10 Correct diagram in the attachment 28) fig 8.11Correct diagram in the attachment. 29)page 154 correct diagram in the attachment. Size of the Horse bigger than Dinosaur ?only fossilized scull of Dinosaur what about skeleton ? 30)Refraction of Light all the diagrams of glass slab and lenses are of slate colour they should be crystal clear . 31)fig 11.1 Most important part fovea .Area consisting of a small depression in the retina containing cones and where vision is most acute .Lens & vitreous fluid blue colour wrong. 32)fig 11.5 Glass Prism blue colour wrong should be crystal clear. 33)fig 11.6 Prism green colour wrong. ?Ray coming out of first Prism going straight wrong . 34)fig.11.8 Correct fig in attachment Water drop colour blue, wrong. 35)fig11.9 Apparent star position should be exactly above the actual position of Star. 36)11.10 Colour of Sun at horizon should be reddish The observer is at the fag end of the atmosphere ?He should be on the Earth 37)fig 11.11 Tank water is not clear but of Blue colour ,wrong. The beam going from air in to water filled tank will not go straight as shown. 38).fig11.12 Sun near Horizon colour should be reddish .Correct fig in attachment 39)page 203 Symbol of Tap Key missing 40)11.9 Text card board with two holes .How can be a Coil inserted in two holes ? You have to take two cardboard pieces then two make two half holes keep then keep the circular coil in the half hole and join the boards. 41)Horse shoe magnet suspending in the air ?Use stand. 42)fig.13.16 Text take a coil of large number of turns(Usually more than 40).but in the figure there are only 7 turns? 43)fig 13.20 distribution of wires through three fuses not shown. Only single fuse is in the circuit 45)page 244 Solar Cooker fig wrong inside colour should be black not gray The tin box in side should be painted black 46)fig 14.2 Steam flow should be on the Blades .Connect the rotor of dynamo by belt from dynamo connect two wires to dynamo for taking current to bulb. Figure is totally wrong 47)fig 14 .3 Generator is of half the size of the Dam ? 48)fig14.4 Totally wrong figure. Correct fig in the attachment 49)fig 14.5 windmill where are the electric power wires ? 50)fig14.6 Solar Cooker utensils or Boxes should be painted black. Not gray.
